Description: The synthetic variants of HDP are known as innate defence regulator (IDR) peptides. One of these peptides, IDR-1002, efficiently enhanced the immune response to eliminate Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli from infected tissues, even when these bacterial pathogens were multi-resistant to antibiotics. Moreover, in synovial fibroblasts, IDR-1002 effectively controlled inflammation by selectively modulating the expression of interleukin (IL)-1Ra and IL-10 and reducing NF-κB p50 nuclear translocation induced by IL-1β.
