Product Name: Adipic acid-Tryptophan
IUPAC Name: (2S,2’S)-2,2′-(adipoylbis(azanediyl))bis(3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanoic acid),
Description: Adipic acid is the most important industrial dicarboxylic acid widely used for the production of nylon 66 and polyurethane. It is a nontoxic and biocompatible compound which has several applications in the food industry, e.g., as a flavorant, acidulating agent, and gelling aid. Tryptophan is important as the major precursor of the nicotinamide nucleotide coenzymes,NAD and NADP, and in the central nervous system as the precursor of the transmitter serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine). The indole nucleus of tryptophan is also present in many fungal toxic peptides such as phalloidin and amanitin.
